Ottah named United Soccer Coaches Division II Player of the Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (via JCBobcats.com) – A Jones College student-athlete has received a prestigious honor.
Celine Ottah has been named the United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division II Women's Player of the Year, a first in program history.
Ottah had previously been selected as a United Soccer Coaches and NJCAA Division II First Team All-American, First Team All-MACCC and NJCAA All-Region 23.
She was also named the NJCAA Division II Tournament's Most Valuable Player after helping the Bobcats win the national championship. She scored four goals, including two game-winners, and had two assists to help Jones go 4-0 in the tournament.
Ottah, a sophomore forward from Aba, Nigeria, had 19 goals on the season, including six game-winners, and had seven assists for a total of 45 points. She was fourth in the conference in scoring and 22nd in the nation.
Since 2018, she has been a member of the senior Nigerian National Team.
Ottah transferred to Jones from Polk State College in Florida. She had 15 goals, 14 assists and 44 points as a freshman at Polk State and was named the team's Freshman of the Year.
Ottah helped the Bobcats to a 17-1-1 record and the first ever women's soccer national championship in school and MACCC history.
