Women's Basketball
Terica Smith, Meridian Community College
(SO, F - West Point, MS, 32)
Sophomore Terica Smith continued her dominance in the paint this week to help the Lady Eagles stay undefeated on the early season. The West Point native finished with 36 points and 18 rebounds over two games, including a double-double against Lawson State, where she scored a career high 25 points and secured 10 rebounds. Smith also went an impressive 11-14 from the FT stripe and made her first 3-pointer of her college career.
Men's Basketball
Jay Tyler, Jones College
(So, G - Glen Allan, MS, 10)
Jay Tyler posted games of 25 vs. Three Rivers and 24 at Bishop State to lead No. 7 Jones to a 2-0 week. He shot 57 percent from the floor and had 13 assists against just two turnovers. Tyler has scored 20+ in three of Jones' five games this season after scoring a season-high 12 points twice as a freshman.
Football - Offense
Jarvis Durr, Northwest Mississippi Community College
(So, RB - Brandon, Miss., 8)
While Durr didn't score any points for the Rangers, he ended up as the leading man on the offense in a game they needed every yard. He led the Rangers with 65 yards on the ground while also picking up 45 yards through the air, including getting eight yards on a screen pass on the Rangers final drive that turned into the game sealing first down.
Football - Defense
Elliot Helps, Northwest Mississippi Community College
(So, LB - Olive Branch, Miss., 33)
Elliot Helps had a big game for the Rangers in clutch moments on Saturday afternoon in the MACCC Championship game. The sophomore pulled in his second interception in as many games, this time in the second half on the goalline and also had a tackle for a loss as the Rangers defense held MGCCC to just 13 points, their lowest total of the season.
Football - Special Teams
Hayden Wolfe, Northwest Mississippi Community College
(So, K/P - Clinton, Miss., 38)
Special teams were the different in the MACCC Championship and Hayden Wolfe came through when it mattered most for Northwest. The sophomore hit a season long fg of 51 yards on the first drive for the Rangers to set the tone and capped off his day with a 47 yard field goal for the go-ahead score in the 4th quarter in a 16-13 win. The kicker also had two of his kickoffs go into the end zone for touchbacks.

Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer and tennis.
