Volleyball - Offense
Harmony Jackson, Jones College
(So, Pin - Oxford, Miss., 24)
Jackson had a team-high 31 kills, against four errors, and hit .491 in a 3-0 week for the Bobcats. She added six digs. Jones is 21-1 on the year and has won 11 in a row.
Volleyball - Defense
Emily Truan, East Central Community College
(FR, Libero - Round Rock, TX, 1)
Emily Truan (Round Rock, Texas) was a defensive force for East Central last week, totaling 50 digs and six assists across two key MACCC victories. This was an average of 7.14 digs per set. The freshman libero notched 28 digs and three assists in a four-set win at Northeast Mississippi, then followed with 22 digs and three assists in a straight-set sweep of Pearl River. Truan?s consistency and leadership on the back line helped anchor the Lady Warriors? 2?0 week, improving ECCC to 10?8 overall and 7?4 in conference play.
Women's Soccer - Offense
Alesha Gale, Pearl River Community College
(Fr, F - Rotherham, England, 24)
Alesha Gale (Rotherham, England) scored an incredible six goals last week across matches against Copiah-Lincoln and East Mississippi. She started the week with four second-half goals against the Wolves before tacking on two more goals against the Lions.
Women's Soccer - Goalkeeper
Laurel Conley, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College
(So, GK - Ocean Springs, 0)
Laurel Conley, a sophomore keeper from Ocean Springs, had 16 saves to backstop a 1-0-1 week for No. 9 Mississippi Gulf Coast against top-5 teams. She had a four-save shutout to beat No. 5 Jones 1-0 at Perkinston. In a 2-2 tie at No. 1 Northwest Mississippi, she stopped 12 shots.
Men's Soccer - Offense
Villads Juma, Itawamba Community College
(FR, ST/W - Helsingør, Denmark , 14)
Villads Juma (Helsingør, Denmark) continues to have a strong freshman season. He had three goals and two assists in the Indians' 6-0 win over Southwest.
Men's Soccer - Goalkeeper
Hagan Pearce, Itawamba Community College
(FR, GK - Peppertown, MS, 0)
Freshman keeper Hagan Pearce (Peppertown) had a big game to help the Indians earn a 1-1 draw with No. 11 Hinds in a complete match in net. He followed up that performance with 45 mins in net in a 6-0 win over Southwest.
Football - Offense
Keon Hutchins, Northwest Mississippi Community College
(So, WR - Union, Miss., 1)
Keon Hutchins was nearly unstoppable in the first half for NWCC in their win over the Bears. The receiver had three of his five first half receptions go for more than 50 yards, including a pair of 62 yard TD catches. He had three touchdowns in the first half and his 216 total yards in the game was third all time for the Rangers.
Football - Defense
Davier Bishop, East Mississippi Community College
(So., DL - Akron, OH, 98)
EMCC defensive end Davier Bishop made a major impact up front during the Lions' thrilling 31-28 home victory over Northeast Mississippi. Three of his five total tackles in the contest came behind the line of scrimmage for 14 total yards lost. In addition to his two quarterback sacks (for -11 yards) along with his other 3-yard tackle for loss, Bishop also forced a fumble on Northeast's first offensive possession of the game to set the tone for EMCC's defensive line on the afternoon.
Football - Special Teams
Hayden Houpt, East Mississippi Community College
(So., K - Madison, MS, 38)
EMCC kicker Hayden Houpt booted the game-winning, 23-yard field goal with time expiring on the game clock to lift the Lions to a thrilling 31-28 Homecoming victory over Northeast Mississippi. Along with kicking the game-winner in his lone field goal attempt of the day, Houpt was a perfect 4-for-4 on PAT kick attempts while also averaging 54.6 yards on his five kickoffs with one touchback.
