Volleyball - Offense
Avery Wheat, Pearl River Community College
(So, OH - Gonzales, La., 25)
Avery Wheat (Gonzales, La.; East Ascension) tallied 91 kills across six matches for Pearl River last week. She also had 9 service aces.
Volleyball - Defense
Morgan Mears, Pearl River Community College
(So, MB - Hurley, Miss., 13)
Morgan Mears (Hurley; East Central) racked up 17 total blocks last week, including three solo blocks. She also had 12 digs.
Women's Soccer - Offense
Emma Jensen, Northwest Mississippi Community College
(So, MF - Gammelby, Germany, 8)
Jensen was on fire for the Rangers in a week full of matches against ranked/receiving votes teams. She contributed 11 points on the week, scoring five goals and an assist. The midfielder dictated the game tempo against some of the top teams outside of the MACCC.
Women's Soccer - Goalkeeper
Ann Marie Barton, Northwest Mississippi Community College
(So, GK - Olive Branch, Miss., 0)
Ann Marie shut out #16 Northeast Nebraska and RV Mineral Area. The Northwest GK has only allowed three goals in 5 matches on the season, with four clean sheets. All five matches on the year have been against ranked/receiving votes teams in the NJCAA DII polls.
Men's Soccer - Offense
Jason Guerrero, Meridian Community College
(SO, MID - Hattiesburg, MS, 11)
Sophomore Jason Guerrero had another phenomenal week for the Eagles. In three games this week, the Hattiesburg native scored 6 goals, including 4 goals against Enterprise State. He finished the week with 12 points and helped the Eagles to a 1-1-1 week against ranked opponents on the road. Guerrero leads the nation in goals scored (11) and points (25) after 6 games this year.
Men's Soccer - Goalkeeper
Cohen Bonner, Southwest Mississippi Community College
(Fr, GK - Hattiesburg, MS, 1)
Cohen Bonner was big for the Bears this week helping them to wins in both matches. Bonner started both matches and helped record clean sheets for both finishing with seven saves.
Football - Offense
Kedrick Triplett, Pearl River Community College
(R-Fr, WR - Florence, Ala., 3)
Kedrick Triplett (Florence, Ala.) hauled in just three passes against Itawamba, but made them count. He finished the game with 158 yards and two touchdowns, including an 88-yard game-winning touchdown with one minute left in the game. He's gone over 100 yards receiving in each of PRCC's first two games.
Football - Defense
Joshua Davis, Copiah-Lincoln Community College
(Fr., DL - Mendenhall, Mississippi, 95)
Joshua Davis had an impactful performance for the Wolves defense where he accounted for four points on back-to-back possessions by the Bulldogs with a pair of sacks that both resulted in safeties. The first safety resulted from a strip sack by Davis when he hit the Bulldogs quarterback deep in their territory while the ball was recovered by the Bulldogs in their endzone while the second sack happened on the next possession as Davis sacked the quarterback in the endzone for the safety. The four-point swing gave the Wolves a 14-0 lead in the second quarter.
Football - Special Teams
Cory Jackson, Pearl River Community College
(Fr, WR - Petal, Miss., 19)
Cory Jackson (Petal) set the tone right from the start against Itawamba, taking the opening kickoff 90 yards to the end zone for the score. He finished with three returns for 124 yards, averaging 41.3 yards per return.
