MACCC Announces Baseball Players of the Week Ahead of Region 23 Play

Eli Walker, Jones College
(R-So, P - Gulfport, Miss., 3)
Eli Walker, a redshirt-sophomore from Gulfport, was outstanding in No. 12 Jones College's 5-1 win over East Mississippi in Game 3 of their Region playoff series. Making his first appearance since April 13, Walker allowed no hits in 5.0 innings to spark the Bobcats. He allowed one run, struck out four and walked three. Walker has already signed with Mississippi State University.
Carter Wells, Northeast Mississippi Community College
(Freshman, INF - Huntsville, Ala., 27)
Carter Wells concluded his freshman season with ninth multi-hit game of the season in a 12-7 game three playoff loss to top-ranked East Central. Among that was his team-best eighth home run of the year. He also pitched a scoreless eighth inning in relief with only one base runner allowed by a walk.
