MACCC Players of the Week Announced
Softball
Kyleigh Forsyth, Hinds Community College
(Fr, P - Lumberton, TX, 14)
Forsyth was dominant in the circle for the Lady Eagles this week as she earned one win against #4 PRCC and a win against #11 NWCC. Hinds went on to grab three ranked wins on the week over a four-game span.
Lauren Brooks, Meridian Community College
(Sophomore, P/IF - Moss Point, 5)
The sophomore pitcher/DP went 4-5 with 3 homeruns and 7RBIs to lead the Lady Eagles to the sweep over the Coahoma Lady Tigers. Brooks also pitched a complete game shutout and struck out 6 in game 1.
Baseball
Thomas Crabtree, Pearl River Community College
(Fr, RHP - Collierville, Tenn., 17)
Thomas Crabtree (Collierville, Tenn.) carried a perfect game into the eighth inning against Hinds before losing it on an infield single. His final line was seven innings pitched, one hit, 13 strikeouts, zero runs.
Hollis Porter, Pearl River Community College
(R-Fr, INF/OF - Hurley, Miss., 14)
Hollis Porter (Hurley; East Central) drove in 10 runs and scored four across four games for Pearl River. He hit two home runs across the four games to bring his total to 16.
