MACCC Players of the Week Announced

Jackson, Miss. (MACCCAthletics.com) -- The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Baseball, Softball and Men's and Women's Soccer Players of the Week have been named following breakout performances in last week’s games.

The selections are made by a 15-member panel. This week’s awardees are:

Women's Soccer - Offense: Olivia Deslatte (Holmes)

Deslatte had two long goals in Saturday's 4-0 win over Gulf Coast. She added an assist in the finals on Sunday vs. Jones in Holmes' 2-0 win.

Women's Soccer Goalie: Olivia Clark (ECCC)

Olivia Clark had a clean sheet early in the week as the Lady Warriors defeated Pearl River, 1-0. She had three saves in that contest, with some of them coming very late as PRCC was looking for an equalizer.

Men's Soccer Offense: Elean Fajardo (Jones)

Elean Fajardo, a freshman from Oak Grove, helped No. 9 Jones College capture the MACCC/Region 23 Tournament title. He had 2 goals and 1 assists in a 9-0 win over Holmes. He had 3 goals in a 4-2 victory over Hinds in the tourney semifinals. He had 1 goal and 1 assist in the 4-1 championship win over Pearl River.

Men's Soccer Goalie: Peyton Wilbanks (Jones)

Peyton Wilbanks, a sophomore from Madison Central, had a big week for No. 9 Jones College in MACCC/Region 23 Tourney play. He played 45 minutes, had 1 save and combined for a shutout in a 9-0 win over Holmes. He had 4 saves in a 4-2 win over Hinds. He had 7 saves in a 4-1 victory over Pearl River.
